Why steel
Every piece we make is S235 steel: 80 × 80 mm tube for the frame, a 3 mm panel for the headboards, and welded rings. Steel lets a frame stay slender and architectural, and coated steel is easy to wipe down.
Powder coat
Powder coat gives a hard, even finish. It's applied as a dry powder and cured, so the colour is even from post to post and there are no brush marks.
The finish is the only part of the frame you touch, so it gets the most attention.
Choosing a colour
Colour changes how a piece sits in a room more than any other choice. Obsidian (black) and Oxblood (red) make a piece the focus of the room. Chalk (white) lets it recede into the walls. Gilt (gold) catches the light, and Forge Clear (clear coated steel) keeps the look of the steel itself. Any RAL colour is available on request.
Patterns cut into the steel
The patterns on our headboards are cut into the 3 mm headboard panel. Each motif is drawn for its bed, with the scale of the pattern matched to the posts and rails around it. Initials and patterns of your own can be cut as a bespoke order.
Looking after it
Powder-coated steel is easy to wipe down. Our care guide covers the routine.
